September Challenge: Nasal Breathing
Breathing. Simple yet complicated. For running, breathing can make the difference between easy and hard. Diaphragmatic breathing is key and can be facilitated by breathing through your nose while watching yourself breathe in a mirror. If your shoulders rise and fall towards the ceiling, you are NOT diaphragmatic breathing, you are shallow breathing. This type of breathing causes short incomplete breaths, not getting rid of all the accumulating CO2 and will cause you to slow down, require a walk break or even stop.
Practice nasal breathing in all aspects of your daily routine, including exercise.
Bonus: 1 hour breathing class will be offered this month.
